Park and public space
The aim to make high-quality outdoor space accessible to everyone is an important driving force of Buro Mien Ruys. Our designs for parks and public green are pragmatic in nature and have a clear spatial structure with an emphasis on green. Green keeps the contemporary city liveable, provides nature experience, coolness, peace and meeting.
Social and green
Mien Ruys' social ideals were expressed primarily in her designs for communal gardens in social housing complexes. For those who were unable to afford a private garden, her communal garden and park designs provided access to a green, healthy, safe and beautiful outdoor space. A current theme, because communal garden and park designs continue to function as an important meeting place for local residents to this day.
