Koninginnelaan Apeldoorn

Dealing smartly with a limited budget
Koninginnelaan consists of typical 1960s high-rises. After the apartment buildings were renovated, the surrounding area also received a facelift. The budget was very modest. To save money, parking was retained and the tiles were reused. The entrances have been given a more elegant look and are now more pedestrian-friendly.
New paving materials have been used to create square-like pedestrian areas where cars are guests. Bicycle parking and waste containers have been discreetly placed. The zigzag arrangement of the apartment buildings has created triangular outdoor spaces. Their shape makes them difficult to design. Each has been given its own theme and function in the plan. Grass and walking paths connect the various garden sections. The existing large oaks and maples have been retained.
