Park design

Mien Ruys designed a park for this factory building for the Ploeg Bergeijk weaving mill, a design by Gerrit Rietveld. Both the building and the park are now designated national monuments. The factory is currently being renovated to prepare for its new purpose.

The new owner, Bruns BV, commissioned our firm to prepare the renovation and restoration of Ploegpark. A historical appraisal, prepared by our firm, formed the basis for this. Part of the plan is to restore the characteristic elements from Mien Ruys's design, such as the clipped privet blocks, shrub groups, and perennial borders. In addition, minor alterations will be made to the immediate surroundings of the buildings to accommodate Bruns's business operations.

Because it is a national monument, this is done in close consultation with the Cultural Heritage Agency of the Netherlands (RCE), the Province of North Brabant and the municipality of Bergeijk.

Our office will also draw up a management plan with accompanying drawings for the Ploegpark.
