Landscape
Buro Mien Ruys regularly works on large-scale green structure and landscape plans. By means of clear lines we strengthen the structure and readability of the landscape. The starting point for new plans is often formed by what is still present of the original cultural-historical landscape, without only wanting to restore. Creating a future-proof landscape is paramount, innovation is necessary for this.

In 1946, Mien Ruys was responsible for the replanting of roads, dikes and country estates on the Zeeland island of Schouwen-Duiveland, a plan for restoration but also renewal. She also played an important role in the creation of the total green composition of the post-war village of Nagele in 1956.
A recent project from 2023 is the partial elaboration of the Park21 master plan between Hoofddorp and Nieuw-Vennep. Here, a completely new recreational landscape is being developed in the Haarlemmermeerpolder with new forests, marsh and reed zones, water buffering, a recreational walking and cycling path system and large-scale leisure.
