Buro Mien Ruys has created a design plan for the new VMBO school, with a school boulevard and a park strip. The new VMBO school will be added to an existing school site. A combination has been created with existing sports facilities. A boulevard connects the schools. The entrances for cars and bicycles end on this boulevard. A safe pedestrian bridge leads the pupils over the busy cycle route to the sports building. 

A water feature has been added to the site for the requested water storage. The existing park strip between the boulevard and the residential area is being adapted as part of the Ecological Main Structure of Groningen. Here nature can develop. The square space at the school has been kept simple and contemporary. The floor consists of mixed bricks. Trees have been scattered on the square and in collaboration with artist Michiel Kluiters a special interactive work of art has been placed on the square.
