Construction Fund Hoevelaken

A strategic nature plan
When Bouwfonds Hoevelaken needed to expand its headquarters in the late 1990s, it purchased approximately 20 hectares of agricultural land. Only a portion of the land was needed for the expansion. On the advice of Buro Mien Ruys, the remaining portion was designated for nature conservation. This optimally guaranteed the green character for the long term. This was crucial for securing the support and cooperation of the municipality and provincial government for the expansion plans.

Flower-rich grassland
The structure of the original landscape has been incorporated into the plan. Alder groves, oak avenues, woodland strips, and a large water feature have been added. Access to the area is restricted to the edges to ensure tranquility and natural development. A recreational route has been created around the perimeter, providing long sightlines through the area, allowing walkers and cyclists to enjoy the area. The groundwater level has been raised using weirs, and the soil has been depleted. This allows for the development of flower-rich grassland.
