Post-war urban development

Nagele is an icon of post-war urban development. The village in the Nooroostpolder was built in the fifties. It is one of the few places where progressive urban planners, architects and landscape architects such as Cornelis van Eesteren, Aldo van Eyck, Gerrit Rietveld and Mien Ruys were able to realise their ideas on a larger scale.

Buro Mien Ruys has drawn up a green structure plan for Nagele that should contribute to the improvement of the greenery in Nagele in the coming ten years. The historical valuation, extensive analysis of the planting plans of Mien Ruys and Wim Boer and an inventory of the current situation formed the basis of the green structure plan.

In addition to the green structure plan, an implementation plan has been drawn up for the coming 10 years, in which the interventions and the associated implementation costs are described per year. This makes it clear per year what needs to be done and what investments are required. In the course of 10 years, the required 10% savings are also found on the total maintenance costs.
