Nieuwe Haven consists of a nursing home and housing project in one project, with a shared courtyard. The homes have a higher floor level than the nursing home. In order to overcome the height difference for wheelchairs, ramps have been made between hedges. These hedges ensure a pleasant division of the space between the nursing section and the housing section without cutting the space in two.

In the inner garden, various seating areas and walking loops have been created for elderly people with a limited range. The paving of paths and terraces is as much as possible a unity and consists of a block-shaped pattern of tiles and clinkers. The existing chestnuts have been retained. The further design is cheerful with many flowers, a pond and a jeu-de-boules court for the active jeu-de-boules team in the nursing home.
