Historic country estate

The historic country estate Vredenoord is part of a series of country estates on the Vliet. The country estate consists of a house, outbuildings, a garden with a vegetable garden and a park. The house was rebuilt after a fire in 1920. Outbuildings date from the 17th and 18th centuries. The 19th century park in landscape style was designed by Zocher, who also designed the Vondelpark.

The park was still completely intact but seriously neglected. The park has been restored together with the house. The whole is a national monument. In the design for the part of the grounds near the house, coherence has been created between house, garden and park. The driveway has been relocated and water features have been dug again. The garden adjacent to the park has been redesigned with a new vegetable garden and orchard. The orchard contains old fruit varieties and espalier fruit. Mature fruit trees have been planted, which immediately give the space character.
