Mien Ruys is een van de pioniers van de moderne tuinarchitectuur. De ontwerpers van Buro Mien Ruys hanteren nog altijd haar credo ‘zoeken naar de heldere lijn’ en het gebruik van een beproefd beplantingassortiment. Het contrast wordt gevormd door de verhouding tussen de heldere lijnen van het ontwerp, de plattegrond, en de vaak overvloedige, kleurrijke en vormrijke beplanting.
Parks and public space
The aim to make high-quality outdoor space accessible to everyone is an important driving force of Buro Mien Ruys. Our designs for parks and public green are pragmatic in nature and have a clear spatial structure with an emphasis on green. Green keeps the contemporary city liveable, provides nature experience, coolness, peace and meeting.
Landscape
Buro Mien Ruys regularly works on large-scale green structure and landscape plans. By means of clear lines we strengthen the structure and readability of the landscape. The starting point for new plans is often formed by what is still present of the original cultural-historical landscape, without only wanting to restore. Creating a future-proof landscape is paramount, innovation is necessary for this.
Carefree Green
The Zorgeloos Groen (carefree green) concept offers a realistic and attractive alternative to unattractive municipal greenery within urban areas. This planting concept uses a range of robust, drought-loving, ground-covering perennials and shrubs in a high plant density. By allowing the soil to grow densely as quickly as possible after planting, weed growth is limited.
