Part of Prommenz

Last week the signatures were put and from this week Buro Mien Ruys is officially part of Prommenz. Since September 2022 we have been working together and Anet Scholma and Jos Smit have started to lead the design team of Buro Mien Ruys. Through this collaboration the design team has been expanded while maintaining quality and expertise and thus the continuity of Buro Mien Ruys is guaranteed.

As early as the 1950s, Mien Ruys wrote about the importance of greenery in public spaces and the influence of greenery on people's well-being and health. In her opinion, planting was the way to bring nature and the experience of the seasons into the living environment. This point of view appears to be more relevant than ever 70 years later.

Garden design for a healthcare institution

Healing environment in healthcare

Outdoor spaces at healthcare institutions have a positive and sometimes even healing effect on people. A well-thought-out garden design ensures that residents go outside more often, patients recover faster, and staff experience less stress. In the healthcare sector, such a garden is also referred to as a healing garden (the outdoor space) or a healing environment (both indoors and outdoors).
