Sometimes designs by Mien Ruys pop up unexpectedly in the news. This time in the North Holland daily newspaper and The Telegraaf. It concerns a special villa on the Provincialeweg in Zaandam, which is currently for sale on Funda.

Many schoolyards are still grey and functionally designed. They consist mainly of tiles and offer little challenge or experience for children. At the same time, problems such as heat stress, flooding, and a lack of physical activity are increasing.

Outdoor spaces at healthcare institutions have a positive and sometimes even healing effect on people. A well-thought-out garden design ensures that residents go outside more often, patients recover faster, and staff experience less stress. In the healthcare sector, such a garden is also referred to as a healing garden (the outdoor space) or a healing environment (both indoors and outdoors).

More and more people are discovering the importance of greenery in their living environment. Not only because a garden full of plants, trees, and flowers looks beautiful, but also because it contributes to a healthier and more sustainable world. But what exactly are the benefits of a green garden? And what should you consider when creating a garden design?

To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Mien Ruys Gardens, Buro Mien Ruys designed three city gardens that have become an integral part of these special gardens in Dedemsvaart.

It's always fun to see our designs come to life! Last summer, we had an inspiring garden tour day with several stops along the way. From private gardens to public green spaces, we couldn't stop talking about design, planting, and color combinations.

A healthy living environment for students starts with a healthy schoolyard! There is a temporary subsidy scheme to help schools create a healthy and inspiring play environment. And we are happy to think along!

At the end of March, the renovation of the complex garden of Ymere at the Zernikehof in Badhoevedorp was completed. The design was in the hands of Buro Mien Ruys, in collaboration with the residents!
